Working title
Music based programming for Children in Need
Format
A 1 hour morning radio show that will consist popular music, features, friendly banter and general chit-chat. The radio show will include three features. All content is designed and aimed at our target audience, this being 16-23 year olds.
Duration
A 1 hour radio show.
Audience
After collecting our research, in which we collected approximately 200 results from people of a variety of ages and as equal gender as possible our target audience is aged between 16-23, therefore we will cater our radio show around this age range.
Synopsis
A friendly light hearted radio show. Our 3 features are:
Wood Chuck Chilli - 2 contestants will battle it out in a test of how much chilli they can withstand with the chilli's getting hotter as the game progresses. The point of the game is that each contestant will eat a chilli then say the tounge twister 'how much wood would a wood chuck chop if a wood chuck could chop wood' they must say this after each chilli they eat until one contestant gives in. Listeners can guess who they think will win and will pay 50p for the privilege with all proceeds going to children in need, the listeners who guess the correct winnder will then be put in a prize draw and will be in with the chance with winning a mystery prize.
Fact of the day - The two guest presenters will read out some random/funny/weird facts that have been pulled off the internet and have a small discussion about each fact.
Barryoake - One of the presenters or somebody else involved with the radio show will mumble or hum a popular song in a humerous way and the presenters have to guess the song which the person is immitating.
Unsigned song of the week - Part of the show in which we will play an unsigned song then discuss and offer the listeners the chance to give their opinions on it.
Style
A light hearted, friendly production that will be easy listening, humerous and full of banter. (similar to that of the Chris Moyles breakfast show on BBC Radio 1)
Rationale
It will interest our target audience as the music we are playing is based on the genres they asked to hear when filling in our questionnaires and features that have been researched and that we think our target audience will enjoy.
Feasability
Our songs will be downloaded from iTunes and we have the PRS license to use them. All jingles and soundbeds are uncopyrighted material from Soundtrack Pro. Our pre-recorded feature will be recorded using a Zoom Recorder and condenser microphone and then editied on Soundtrack Pro. After all content is finished we will place it onto a schedule on Myriad ready for our radio show.
Budget
Each song we play will cost 0.79p from iTunes. Cost of the chillis, yoghurt and bottled water used during Wood Chuck Chilli.
Deadline
On 19th November 2010 (Children in Need)
